It was cold again today. It threatened to rain all day. Mom and I did manage to get out for a little bit of a ride this afternoon though. We stayed pretty close to home, but a ride is a ride and we had fun.

Mom came over at about 11:30 am on the bike. So I jumped on my bike too and we went for lunch. When we were done, we went for a bit of a ride up and around the airport. We did some shopping at the mall and played some Keno with Ryan. I won my jackpot so we popped over to the casino to try our luck there. After dinner we went and picked up Phil and rode around town a few times. I thought it was going to rain on us but we managed to avoid getting wet. We went down river road and realized some of the extent of the flooding during the ice jam. The road is completely washed out and they are only now starting to rebuild.

Ok so its been awhile since I've been able to ride (I got sick). I finally got out though and we went to Hixon for lunch. Hixon seems to be a favourite lunch place. The weather was great: very sunny and warm. When mom and I came back, we went down to the river to take some pictures of the flooding.

After that we just rode around a little. We went up to Walmart and then I brought my mom home. After that I went home too.

Today was a teaching day. My friend Phil just bought a bike to and I am teaching him how to ride. I met him at his mom's house and we rode around a little. We spent most of the day though at the CN Centre parking lot. I did manage to figure out that I can go about 245 km on a tank of gas before I go on reserve though.

I took the bike to coffee today. Mom didn't have her's so I met her at home to get hers. I decided I needed a new pair of riding gloves so that was our mission today. We went to nearly every bike shop in town before I found a pair. For lunch, we went up to the hart and met with my aunts and gramma. Then we came back into town and made a loop up to the old caribou highway and around the airport. We met up with Ryan for dinner. Its Thursday which means the CMC (Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers) meets at A&W on fifth at 7 pm. My mom and I met up with them and rode out to Hixon for pie. There were 15 bikes. I forgot just how much I missed group riding. It was a blast.

Finally a nice day. It was clear and sunny. It could be a little warmer though. My mom and I went to Hixon for lunch. I've also decided that I need something for my seat because its very hard. I bought a pad and I'm going to see if I can make it work.

I rode my bike to church today. I wanted to show it off a little bit. I connected with my mom later in the day and went for a ride. It was cold and rainy though so we stayed close to home.

I insured the bike this morning and then went and picked it up this afternoon. It was REALLY cold, but I have my bike. :D I stopped at my mom's house and she got her bike too and we went for a little bit of a ride around town.

We drove to Vanderhoof today to look at the V-Star. Its a 2005 and its got about 31,00 km on it. I test drove it and I really like it. He wanted $5000 for it so I bought it. The weather was misserable though so I will have to go and get it tomorrow.

This weekend was the Motorcycle awareness weekend in the mall. Seeing all those bikes, many of them for sale, made me start thinking of buying a new bike. A friend of my mom's gave me a line on a 650 V-Star. It used to be her bike and she sold it to her brother-in-law. Now he's selling it. I'll have to find out what he wants for it and a few more details about it. It sounds very promising though.
